Delegate Candidates Announced IBEW International Convention 2026

Dear Members of 2228,
Following our earlier Call for Delegate Nominations, Local Union 2228 is pleased to announce the candidates who have been duly nominated and have accepted their nomination to stand for election as delegates to the IBEW International Convention, taking place in San Diego, California, USA from September 21–25, 2026.
In accordance with Article II, Section 10 of the IBEW Constitution and Article VIII of the Local Union 2228 Bylaws, the following members have met the eligibility requirements and will appear on the ballot in alphabetical order:
Candidates for Delegate (listed alphabetically):
- Donald Dionne
- Chelsea Gill
- Annie Godin
- Meaghan Olmstead
- Sean Piercey
- Mitchell Vaters
- Jordan Wagg
- Christopher Walker
- Dwayne Watson
Delegate Selection:
- Five (5) members will be elected as delegates through a secret mail ballot election.
- Candidates receiving the next highest number of votes will be designated as alternates.
- As per the Local Union 2228 Bylaws, the President and Business Manager will serve as delegates by virtue of their offices.
Election Process:
The election will be conducted by mail ballot in accordance with the procedures set out in Article III of the Local Union 2228 Bylaws and the IBEW Canadian Local Union Election Guide.
Key Dates:
- Ballot Mailing Date: Ballots are expected to be mailed to all members in good standing on May 20, 2026.
- Ballot Return Deadline: Completed ballots must be received by Intellivote no later than 5:00 PM Atlantic Time on June 23, 2026. Ballots received after this deadline will not be counted.
Members are strongly encouraged to mail their ballots promptly upon receipt to ensure timely delivery. Further details regarding the date, time, and location of the ballot count will be communicated to all members in good standing in the official ballot package.
