We are very proud of Ambrose Kent, an apprentice with IBEW 993, who recently took part in the Skills Canada National Competition in Regina. Ambrose placed 4th in all of Canada in the Electrical Installations category.

Earlier this year, Ambrose won first place at the provincial competition in British Columbia. That win earned him a spot at Nationals, where he competed against the top electrical apprentices from across the country. The national competition lasted two days and included many tough tasks that tested his skill, speed, and problem-solving abilities.

“Placing in the top five across Canada is a big deal,” said Jim Bicknell, Business Manager of IBEW 993. “Ambrose showed the kind of talent and hard work that makes us all proud.”

IBEW 993 was happy to sponsor Ambrose on his trip to Regina. His strong performance shows the value of our apprenticeship program and the training our members receive. Ambrose’s success also shows the future is bright for the electrical trade.

We want to thank Ambrose for representing IBEW 993 so well. We are excited to see where his career takes him next.
