Worker dies in suspected electrical incident in Pickering

PICKERING, ONT. — A worker has died after apparently coming into contact with electrical wires on a worksite on Kingston Road in Pickering, Ont. May 29.
An emergency call was placed around 2 p.m. indicating a worker had fallen after contacting wires, a Pickering emergency services source reported. A spokesperson for Ontario’s Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development reported the worker was employed by Wildcats Building Services Inc.
The condition of the worker was not immediately known but the ministry confirmed the next day that the worker had died.
Two ministry inspectors and a ministry engineer attended the project on the afternoon of May 29. One order was issued to the employer and the ministry’s investigation continues.
