Bargaining Unit News – IBEW-FIOE 2228

The Local’s bargaining team met with the employer from the 5^th to the 9^th of February.

The week began with the local tabling our 2^nd comprehensive offer to the employer.  The employer responded quickly with their 3^rd Comprehensive offer, which the local countered with our 3^rd Comprehensive offer.

The bargaining team feels that this was an extremely productive week with definite signs of convergence on several issues.

The local’s bargaining team continues to work extremely hard at developing creative proposals and looking at common interests. The team feels optimistic with the momentum that we are currently seeing.

The nature of the discussions at the table are fluid, and while we can not share specific details, the team is grateful for your support.

The bargaining team will meet with the employer March 5-7^th in Ottawa to continue discussions.
