Update for Nasittuq Members — Wage Arbitration Award

Members of IBEW 2228,
I am pleased to share that we have received the wage arbitration award covering the period of April 1, 2025 to April 1, 2028. As you may recall, under Article 16.4 of our Collective Agreement, the Union sought a wage reopener. Despite extensive negotiations and a mediation session in July 2025, it was not possible to reach an agreement on wages, and the matter was referred to arbitrator James Cameron. We have now received his decision.
The awarded wage increases are as follows:
- Effective April 1, 2025: 14%
- Effective April 1, 2026: 4%
- Effective April 1, 2027: 3%
- Effective April 1, 2028: 3%
The 2025 and 2026 increases will both come with back pay. Nasittuq has yet to confirm when those payments will be made, and I will pass that information along as soon as I have it.
