Help Design A Future That Works

YOU’RE INVITED!

Storm the Stairs 2024 | Team Challenge

Wear your best sneakers and storm the stairs to support local United Way BC programs that help people in need throughout Trail and area.

United Way BC’s Storm the Stairs is an annual event in Trail that brings the community together to get active and have fun while raising funds in support of those in need in our region. It is open to people of all different fitness levels and ages.

Participants can choose one of three routes (2.4km, 4km or 7.5km) to challenge themselves by running or walking through the Westside of Trail, enjoying spectacular views of Trail and the Columbia River.

Raise a minimum of $50 to register and get a chance to win special prizes! You can join us on your own or as part of a team – invite your friends, co-workers, and family.

Are you up for the challenge?

Create a Team

Teams are made up of 2 or more people, and they can be corporate or community teams.

  • Decide on a team name and start recruiting!
    • Corporate: co-workers (must all work for the company or be related to an employee)
    • Community: sports team, sorority, friends, family, etc.
  • Individuals on the same team can participate in different routes. They can run, walk or stroll.
  • Show your team spirit! You can create T-shirts or hats made with your team or company’s name (remember: safety first).

Your participation in this year’s Storm the Stairs event will fund local United Way BC initiatives that support kids, vulnerable seniors, and families from the Trail, Castlegar and West Kootenay Boundary area to get the help they need – building stronger, healthier communities.

So, put your team together today and join the challenge!

How to Build a Great Team

  • Recruit your team members and choose your team Captain.
  • Build a team profile, and include why you are doing the challenge.
  • Set your fundraising goal.
  • Share on social media. Visit: @StormtheStair on Facebook.
  • When organizing a team(s) at your workplace, consider challenging other departments or floors to put in a team.
  • Teams can fundraise together, solicit donations from co-workers, request corporate matching of their registration fees, and collect donations from people outside the organization.
  • Teams can train together or just keep each other on schedule and set training goals and challenges among team members.
  • Because this is a fundraiser, we ask each team member to raise a minimum of $50.
