Responsibilities:
You will operate and carry out regular inspections of all generation, transmission and distribution facilities and identify and report deficiencies. You will prepare, check, and if necessary, complete and verify work permits, switching orders and associated forms. You will read and report KWH from meters and assist in the preparation of daily production reports and system trouble report. Upon completion of two (2) years service in the classification, and following completion of the Corporations training program, you will be assigned to temporarily fill the Senior Station Operator classification as required. All other duties as assigned.
You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the Corporation’s Safety and Health Program. You will also be responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.
Job Requirements:
You will have a Journeyperson Certificate as a Power System Operator, preferably through an Apprenticeship Program or an equivalent certificate recognized by the Corporation. You will have one (1) year experience, with Operations, in a Hydro Electric Plant System following certification or have completed the Corporation’s Power System Operator Apprenticeship Program. You will have a thorough knowledge of all trade related safety and operating regulations and you must possess an appropriate valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
