Soap Sale and Blanket Drive

Categories: BC, IBEW, Local 213

The Womens’ Committee and EWMC have partnered again to bring handmade soap bars decorated to look like holiday ornaments.

Each bag has multiple soaps of various sizes, with some bags also featuring a handcrafted wooden Christmas tree decoration. Gift bags will be sold for $20 each (cash only) at the union hall, and the Unit 2 meeting. All proceeds will go to the Downtown Eastside Women’s Center.

EWMC Blanket Drive

The Electrical Worker’s Minority Caucus (EWMC) are collecting the blankets to bring down to the Oppenheimer Park in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside for their annual Day of Service.

The EWMC is looking for donations of good-condition used blankets and clothing. If you have donations, please bag and bring them to the Union Hall in Port Coquitlam during business hours, or the Unit 2 meeting on Thursday, December 7.

This year’s EWMC Day of Service is on December 16, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Members will be serving food, handing out hygiene products, clothing and blankets, and talking to people. This is organized by Employed to Empower, and The Heart Tattoo Society will be helping out with the food.
