Responsibilities:
In this role you will fulfill all responsibilities of an issuing authority for all work permits assigned by the controlling authority. This role will be supplemental to the responsibility of the Senior Station Operator. You will prepare, check, issue, and if necessary, complete, and verify work permits, switching orders, and associated forms and you will issue work permits, condition guarantees, and work authorizations. You will provide direction to various work groups to ensure all aspects of the work permits are well organized including switching, testing, etc. You will attend regularly scheduled maintenance meetings and provide updates on the progress of work identified on relevant PC1’s. You will provide input into the scheduling and planning process including pre-permit work, pre-outage checks, providing input into outage conflicts, etc. and perform all other duties as assigned.
In addition, you will be responsible for working hours as directed by the Operations Supervisors which may include evenings and weekends as required by the work groups of the assigned work permits. Regular hours of work will be defined as 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Hours as directed by Operations Supervisor paid at the prevailing overtime rate, if applicable.
You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the Corporation’s Safety and Health Program. You will also be responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.
Job Requirements:
Journeyperson Certificate as Power System Operator, preferably through an Apprenticeship Program or an equivalent certificate recognized by the Corporation. Must have completed the required Senior Station Operator training as deemed necessary by the Corporation. Must have successfully obtained a level three Work Protection Code certification as an issuing authority. Shall have a thorough knowledge of all job related safety and operating procedures. Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
