IBEW Breaks New Ground In Kelowna BC

Categories: Canada, IBEW

In June, over 40 IBEW Membership Development Reps from across Canada joined forces in Kelowna, British Columbia, to connect with workers in the area and promote the benefits of IBEW representation.

Traditionally known as an ‘anti-union’ area, Kelowna presented us with a significant challenge. But our membership development reps, fueled by their passion, were undeterred. Their palpable energy was felt as they visited hundreds of sites throughout the region, and the response was overwhelmingly positive.

Thank you to Kelowna’s incredible workers and contractors who welcomed us and engaged with our reps. We had a blast and look forward to keeping in touch!

A huge thanks to our host locals, IBEW Local 213, IBEW Local 258, IBEW Local 230, IBEW Local 993, and IBEW Local 1003. Our video below does not capture the months of planning and preparation for this event. We are incredibly grateful to our Local Unions and Membership Development Reps, who came together with a shared goal to grow awareness in this underrepresented area.
