Day of Truth and Reconciliation – IBEW Local 353

Categories: IBEW, IBEW 353, Ontario

As we approach the Day of Truth and Reconciliation on September 30th, we want to take a moment to reflect on the importance of this day and the ongoing journey toward healing and understanding.

This day is a chance for all of us to acknowledge the painful history and legacy of residential schools in Canada, and to honor the survivors, their families, and the Indigenous communities affected. It serves as a reminder of the work still needed to foster reconciliation and promote healing.

We encourage everyone to wear orange shirts on this day as a symbol of our commitment to understanding the past and supporting Indigenous rights and the fight for justice. Let’s come together to educate ourselves and engage in meaningful conversations about reconciliation within our workplaces and communities.

Please take a moment to commemorate the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation and sharing and joining the conversation. Visit the Government of Canada site to access this learning resource.

Thank you for standing in solidarity and for your commitment to fostering a more inclusive future.
