Completion of the National Steering Committee and Formation of Our Treasury Board Bargaining Team

Dear Members of Local 2228,
It is with great pride that I write to mark an important milestone in our preparations for the next round of federal collective bargaining.
This week, we concluded the work of our National Steering Committee for members of the Electronics (EL) occupational group, whose collective agreement is negotiated with the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS). This effort was undertaken in direct response to our earlier Call for Bargaining Proposals. Over the course of the week, the Committee carefully reviewed and vetted more than 137 bargaining proposals submitted by members serving across the departments we represent the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG), the Department of National Defence (DND), Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), and Transport Canada (TC).
The care, diligence, and good faith brought to this process reflect the very best of our organization, and they have laid a strong foundation for the negotiations ahead.

The Work Ahead
In the coming weeks, our bargaining team will have their work cut out for them. I humbly ask every member to respect the confidentiality of the bargaining process and to allow the team the space to do their work on our behalf. Maintaining a united and disciplined front is among the most powerful contributions each of us can make toward a successful outcome.
