Celebrating Family Day with IBEW 993 – Electrical Workers Local 993

This Monday, as we celebrate Family Day, it’s a great time to reflect on the importance of family. Family isn’t just the people we live with or share a last name with, it’s also the people we work alongside every day. There’s a reason we refer to each other as brothers and sisters in the IBEW. We’ve all heard “We’re like a family”, but you can’t be a family when one person earns at the expense of the others. A real family helps each other succeed, grow, and become stronger.

For over 130 years, the IBEW has been a community built on hard work, trust, and solidarity. Together, we’ve helped each other pay mortgages, put food on tables, and build better futures for our families. Our work doesn’t just power homes and businesses, it powers dreams and opportunities for the future.

Family Day reminds us of the strength we have when we stand together. In the IBEW, we look out for each other on and off the job site. We share knowledge, support each other through tough times, and celebrate our wins together. That’s what it means to be part of this family.

So, as you enjoy this Family Day, whether you’re spending time with loved ones or simply taking a well-deserved break, remember that you’re a part of something bigger. You’re a part of the IBEW 993 family that’s been proudly supporting Canadian workers and communities for over a century.
