CBTU Speaks Before Senate In Support Of Bill C-5

On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, Sean Strickland, Executive Director of Canada’s Building Trade Unions, gave evidence before the Senate in support of Bill C-5, the Free Trade and Labour Mobility and Building Canada Act, also known as the One Canadian Economy Act.

Strickland joined the first panel of witnesses on Wednesday for a 75-minute examination by the Senate as part of a four-hour hearing on the matter. Wednesday’s hearings were the final of a three-day Committee of the Whole authorized by the Senate to study the subject matter of Bill C-5.
