2025 International Women’s Day Contest NOW OPEN
International Women’s Day (IWD) is a globally recognized occasion that serves to highlight the achievements and challenges faced by women worldwide. It presents an opportunity for us as a leading labour union to showcase the growing diversity within our membership.
Leading up to International Women’s Day on March 8th, Women in Construction Week celebrates and promotes the role of women in construction.
To mark these important dates, IBEW First District is once again organizing a nation-wide photo contest centered around the theme of “Women in IBEW Canada”. We invite members, to submit photographs capturing moments that celebrate the accomplishments, resilience, and diversity of women within our union.
The contest is open to all active and retired IBEW Canada members, men and women alike. Photos must have a “Women in IBEW Canada” theme, with IBEW members at work, engaged in a union-related activity or featuring subjects conveying images of the industries we represent. To spark creativity, keep in mind the following themes for 2025:
Women In Construction Week: “Together We Rise”
International Women’s Day 2025: “Accelerate Action”
Up to ten (10) finalists will be selected for final judging by a diverse panel of judges who will evaluate the submissions based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and visual impact. The finalists and winners will be featured on the IBEW Canada website and on all our social media platforms.
