Responsibilities:
You will operate and carry out regular inspections of all generation, transmission and distribution facilities and identify and report deficiencies. You will prepare, check, and if necessary, complete and verify work permits, switching orders and associated forms. You will issue work permits, condition guarantees, work authorizations, prepare daily production reports as well as maintaining station logs. You will operate water control structures in accordance with plant load requirement and provide direction to the station operators. All other duties as assigned.
You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the Corporation’s Safety and Health Program. You will also be responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.
Job Requirements:
You will have a Journeyperson Certificate as a Power System Operator, preferably through an Apprenticeship Program or an equivalent certificate recognized by the Corporation. You will have two (2) year experience as a Station Operator with Operations at Churchill Falls. Must have completed the Corporation’s Senior Station Operator training program or have two years as a Senior Station Operator and be able to perform the duties of this classification. You will have a thorough knowledge of all trade related safety and operating regulations and you must possess an appropriate valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
