Today we take time to remember the brave men and women who served our country in times of war, conflict, and peacekeeping. Their courage and sacrifice have given us the freedom and safety we enjoy today.

At IBEW Local 993, we are deeply thankful for all who have worn the uniform, including our own members and their families who have served Canada with pride. The values that guide our union, such as teamwork, commitment, and service to others, are the same values that our veterans showed in protecting our country.

As we take a moment of silence, let us think about their service and remember that peace and freedom come at a great cost. Let us also promise to support those who continue to serve and to build communities based on respect, fairness, and caring for one another.

On behalf of all members of IBEW 993, I thank every veteran, every family, and every worker who keeps the spirit of remembrance alive each day.

Lest we forget.

If you are able, please attend a Remembrance Day ceremony near you.
