Brothers and Sisters,

On Dec 6, 1989 Canada witnessed one of the deadliest shootings in the history of this country. Today marks the 31st anniversary of the attack that cut short the lives of 14 women and injured another ten at École Polytechnique. This horrific incident has since been labeled ‘the Montreal Massacre’ and has become a day to reflect and call for action to end gender-based violence.

Brothers and Sisters, violence against women, occurs everyday. This is terribly sad and extremely wrong. THIS MUST STOP!! Local 1620 supports putting an end to violence against women and mourns the Montreal Massacre.

Let’s please continue to talk about this important issue and do what we can to assist our sisters and all women.

Fraternally yours,

Don
